About This Access Site
**Location & Access:**
The South Sheldon Lake boat ramp is located on Pineland Road near the dam on the southwest corner of the 1,200-acre lake. From Houston, take I-10 east to Beltway 8 north, then exit to Business 90 east and turn left on Pineland Road—the ramp is about half a mile from Highway 90. Parking and a fishing pier are available nearby.

**Paddling & Boating Conditions:**
Sheldon Lake offers calm, flat water ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a leisurely paddle. Note that all boats must operate at headway speed (no-wake speed). The lake provides access to scenic areas popular with birdwatchers and anglers. Fishing decks and shoreline access are available, along with nearby nature trails and boardwalks for exploring the surrounding park.
