About This Access Site
Spring Creek Boating Site is a concrete boat ramp providing access to the South Fork Snake River near Swan Valley in southeastern Idaho. Located at river mile 12.2, just downstream of Highway 20, this facility includes a concrete ramp, restroom facilities, picnic areas, and a dump station. The ramp sits on the right side of the river and serves as an important put-in point for paddlers and boaters exploring this scenic 66-mile stretch of water that winds through high mountain valleys, rugged canyons, and broad flood plains.

Paddlers should note that water levels fluctuate seasonally—the ramp may be inaccessible during low water periods, typically in late summer and fall. A facility use fee is required from late May through September 30. High water conditions can create strong currents that sweep past the ramp with minimal eddy assistance, so careful approach and timing are important. Falls Campground is located nearby (within 10 miles) for overnight accommodations. The South Fork is a popular destination for paddlers of all levels, hosting over 300,000 recreationists annually.
