About This Access Site
Squalicum Harbor is a well-developed boat launch facility on Bellingham Bay in Bellingham, offering excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and trailer boats. The site features a gradually sloped ramp suitable for launching vessels of all sizes, along with ample paved parking. Restrooms are available at the nearby Harbor Center building, and a seasonal boat and trailer rinse-off station is provided. Note that parking is intended for stays up to 5 days maximum; long-term parking is not available, though nearby storage facilities may have options.

Paddlers should be aware that accessing Bellingham Bay requires navigating through the harbor's moorage area. Moorage is available seasonally (May 1–October 31), and water depths in the harbor range from 17–24 feet. The area is designated as a no-discharge zone with a pump-out station available at Squalicum Harbor. This is the primary boating hub for Bellingham Bay, making it a convenient launching point for exploring the bay and surrounding waters.
