About This Access Site
St. Inigoes Landing is a free, publicly operated boat ramp providing access to Smith Creek, a medium-sized river system in southern Maryland. Located at the end of Beachville Road in Lexington Park, the facility features a single-lane ramp with a gradual slope suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The ramp is 30 feet wide with courtesy docks, 15 parking spaces, portable restrooms, and picnic areas with grills—making it a convenient basepoint for paddlers exploring the local waterways.

Smith Creek is a scenic 28-mile tributary with a moderate gradient (averaging 13.7 ft/mile) and healthy flow averaging nearly 25 cubic feet per second. The creek offers generally manageable paddling conditions for recreational boaters and is suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Access to the broader St. Mary's River system is possible from this launch point, providing opportunities for extended trips in the Potomac River drainage.

**Important notes:** The landing is open from sunrise to sunset (except for loading/unloading boats). Do not block the ramp, parked vehicles, or pier access. Portable charcoal grills are prohibited; small gas grills are permitted. For current conditions and additional information, contact St. Mary's Department of Recreation & Parks at 301-863-8400.
