About This Access Site
**Location & Launch:** This boat ramp is located in Callaway, St. Mary's County, at the end of Camp Cosoma Road off Maryland Route 5 (between Leonardtown and Great Mills). The facility provides a modern boat launch onto Evitts Pond, part of the broader St. Mary's River system in a 2,643-acre state park.

**Rules & Restrictions:** Boaters are restricted to **electric motors only**—making this an ideal destination for kayakers and canoeists. The landings close at sunset except for loading/unloading boats, so plan your paddling during daylight hours. Do not block the ramps, parking areas, or bulkheads when launching or landing. A 7.5-mile trail circles the lake, offering shoreline access for fishing and scenic paddling opportunities.

**Amenities:** The lake area includes a modern comfort station, picnic tables, and a playground, making it suitable for family outings. The broader state park encompasses 480 acres of developed lake recreation and an additional 2,200-acre undeveloped hunting area, offering a mix of active recreation and natural shoreline exploration.
