Stanton Park in Canyonville offers a convenient public access point to the South Umpqua River via a dedicated boat ramp. Located about 1.5 miles south of Canyonville off Stanton Park Road, the site provides a straightforward launch for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The park includes amenities such as picnic areas, restrooms, and camping facilities, making it suitable for a full day of recreation or overnight trips.
**Important Launch Notes:** Be aware that the concrete ramp planks have large gaps between them—exercise caution when launching and retrieving boats, particularly with smaller vessels. Additionally, the Oregon Health Authority has issued a permanent advisory for cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) on the South Umpqua River, so check current conditions before paddling and avoid prolonged water contact.
