About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Stillhouse Cove in Cranston provides boat access to the lower Providence River via a small ramp located at Narragansett Boulevard. The site is situated near Roger Williams National Memorial and the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. A visitor center is available Thursday–Sunday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM; call (401) 521-7266 for more information. Note that parking and trailer maneuvering space at the ramp head is extremely limited—you'll need solid backing-up skills to avoid blocking Narragansett Boulevard during launch and retrieval.

**Best For Paddlers:** Hand-carried boats (kayaks and canoes) are well-suited to this access point at all tidal stages. At low tide, an alternative launch option exists at the public stairs at the end of Ocean Avenue, where you can launch from the beach—though this beach is completely submerged at high tide. The lower Providence River can experience rough conditions, so paddlers should be prepared for variable water and plan accordingly.
