About This Access Site
Located in Smithfield on the Woonasquatucket River, this Rhode Island DEM-managed access point offers a boat ramp on the west side of the reservoir, suitable for paddlers and boaters of all skill levels. The site has 12 parking spaces, though trailers are not permitted at the nearby Smithfield Conservation Commission access point on the southern arm due to limited space. Restrooms are not available on site. The ramp's riprap-lined riverbank is functional but less than ideal for launching boats, so paddle craft may want to hand-carry at designated spots instead.

The reservoir supports a variety of fish species including largemouth and smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, and white perch. Be aware of moderate vegetation growth and the presence of Eurasian watermilfoil in the water. The site accommodates both power and non-power boats. To reach the access site, take Log Road and stay right at the fork—the ramp entrance will be on your right in about 0.1 mile.

For visitor information or specific conditions, contact the nearby Old Slater Mill Visitor Center at (401) 725-8638, though it operates seasonally.
