About This Access Site
Stinson Flats offers an easily maintained concrete boat ramp (approximately 20 feet wide) on the Klickitat River, located at mile marker 11.5 on the Glenwood Highway in Klickitat County. This is a straightforward launch point suitable for kayaks, canoes, and rafts, with the ramp positioned in the west section of the campground area. A vehicle use permit or Washington Discovery Pass is required for access.
The site is particularly useful for paddlers during high-water conditions when rafts may be preferred. Primitive camping is available on-site, making it convenient for multi-day trips or early morning launches. The location provides good access to the Klickitat River corridor, and paddlers should note that the Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge is nearby, offering additional recreational opportunities in the area.
