When operational, Stony Cove offers convenient access to Cave Run Lake near the dam off KY 826. The facility features a boat ramp, dock, and free parking, with a launch fee required. The surrounding area includes the Stony Cove Picnic & Beach area and hiking trails through the Daniel Boone National Forest. Cave Run Lake is a 8,270-acre reservoir ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and recreational boating in a scenic forest setting.
**Getting There:** From I-64 take exit 133 and head south on KY 801, then turn right onto Forest Service Road 1278/Scotts Creek Boat Ramp Road. Several reservable campgrounds operate within 10 miles, including Claylick Boat-In, Twin Knobs, and Boat Gunnel Group Campgrounds, making this a good base for multi-day paddling trips. Note: Swimming is prohibited within 100 feet of boat ramps and docks.
