Sugar Hill

Sugar Hill Landing provides public access to Sugar Hill Creek and the Combahee River in Beaufort County near Yemassee. The facility features 50+ unpaved parking spaces and a boat ramp, though the ramp is rough with no courtesy dock available. This is a popular access point, especially during duck season, so expect heavier use during those periods. The landing is best suited for smaller boats and kayaks/canoes.

**Important tidal considerations:** The creek becomes very shallow at low tide, and there's a deep drop-off near the ramp at low tide, so plan your launch timing carefully. Check tide charts before heading out, particularly if launching a kayak or canoe. The unpaved parking surface may become challenging in wet conditions. This is a good launching point for exploring the Combahee River system if you're comfortable with tidal waters and shallow-draft paddling.
