About This Access Site
The Sugarloaf Lake (East) boat ramp provides access to the upper Sacramento River Arm of Sugarloaf Lake in Sebastian County, Arkansas. This is a public boat launch site suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized craft.

The ramp has four launching lanes available until the lake level drawdown reaches 75 feet. At that point, the ramp may become unusable. Restrooms are available on-site. The surrounding Sugarloaf Campground also offers handicap-accessible sites and a picnic area near the boat ramp. While the boat ramp itself is not designated as handicap-accessible, the campground facilities can accommodate those with mobility challenges.

For those looking to explore beyond the lake, the 1.5-mile Sugarloaf Trail can only be accessed by boat. This challenging hike leads to an overlook 1,001 feet above the lake, providing impressive panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Paddlers and boaters should be prepared for the logistics of transporting gear to and from the trailhead.
