Sundale Park

Located on the north shore of Lake Umatilla mid-lake, accessed via Sundale Road in Klickitat County, Sundale Park offers a well-maintained two-lane concrete boat ramp with an attached dock and paved parking area. This is a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters accessing the reservoir created by John Day Lock and Dam. The ramp's mid-lake position on the north side makes it an ideal starting point for exploring various sections of the lake.

Lake Umatilla is a large, slow-moving reservoir ideal for paddling and recreational boating. Sundale Park's developed infrastructure—including the concrete ramp, dock, and ample parking—makes it suitable for launching both small and larger vessels. Paddlers should note that as a federal recreation site managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, conditions and accessibility may vary seasonally.
