Located at the end of Sunnyside Avenue N just east of Gas Works Park, this free public access point serves the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The ramp features a wide launch area and single pier, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. No launch permit is required at this site, and a handicapped accessible portable restroom is available on-site.
This access point puts paddlers directly on the Ship Canal, a unique urban waterway connecting Lake Union to Lake Washington. The calm waters make it ideal for recreational kayaking and canoeing. Note that parking is extremely limited at this location, so plan accordingly. The proximity to Gas Works Park and the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks provides scenic paddling opportunities and access to notable Seattle landmarks along the canal.
