T. W. Messervy Landing is a public boat access point on the Edisto River in Dorchester County, featuring a concrete ramp on the left side of the river at river mile 47.9. Located in South Carolina's Atlantic Coastal Plain, this landing provides convenient access to a scenic 9-mile stretch of river that is ideal for leisurely paddling, fishing, and float trips. The area is popular with both kayakers/canoeists and motorized boaters.
**Access & Directions:** From SC 61 and US 17A, drive northeast on SC 61 for approximately 8 miles and turn left onto Old Beech Hill Road. The landing is easily accessible with parking available near the ramp.
**What to Expect:** This section of the Edisto River features a steady, lazy current well-suited for all skill levels. Paddlers can expect a mix of open water and lined with river cabins. Around mile 3.5 downstream, the river briefly splits into two channels. The presence of boat ramps at each access and established fishing infrastructure makes this a well-trafficked area, particularly for day trips and float-fishing excursions.
