**Location & Access:** Located at 947 W River Road in Taylorsville, Spencer County, this small watercraft ramp provides direct access to the Salt River. From Taylorsville, head south on KY-55 across the Salt River, then immediately turn right on W River Road and continue approximately 1 mile to the launch on your right. Paved parking is available across the street from the ramp—look for the distinctive cinder block building with a Native American canoe mural as your landmark.
**River Conditions & Paddling:** The Salt River is a major waterway (stream order 8) with an average flow of 1,291 cubic feet per second and moderate gradient of 17 feet per mile. Paddlers should expect moderate current conditions typical of a significant river system. **Note: This ramp may become unusable during low water periods**, so check conditions before your trip. The proximity to Taylorsville Lake upstream offers additional paddling options through tributary creeks and hollows known for wildlife viewing.
**What to Expect:** This is a basic, single-lane ramp suitable for small watercraft including kayaks and canoes. Facilities are minimal, so plan accordingly. The location provides good access to the Salt River corridor in central Kentucky, a region within an hour's drive of a substantial portion of the state's population.
