**Location & Facilities**
Texas Rapids Recreation Area is a day-use boat access site located in Riparia, Columbia County, where a single-lane boat ramp launches directly into the Snake River below Herbert G. West Lake. The area offers ADA-accessible covered picnic tables, fire pits, and restrooms (flush in summer, vault in winter). A sheltered boat dock is available for anglers and paddlers.
**Boating & Paddling**
The site provides access to the lower Snake River in the Columbia Plateau region, known for excellent fishing opportunities. The area offers free camping on a first-come, first-served basis with approximately 5 RV sites plus tent camping available near the water. This location serves as a good basecamp for exploring the Snake River corridor and accessing nearby Lyons Ferry State Park. Note that cellular service (Verizon) may be limited in this remote area.
