The Theriot access area provides boat ramp access to Bayou Lafourche and Lake Boeuf in Lafourche Parish. Two launching options serve the area: a free ramp located at Highway 308 where Theriot Canal meets Bayou Lafourche, and a pay ramp on Highway 307 at the Bayou Boeuf border. The site features large slips that make launching straightforward for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats alike.
This access point is particularly useful for paddlers planning to explore Lake Boeuf Wildlife Management Area, which is only accessible by boat via Theriot Canal, Foret Canal, or Lake Boeuf itself. The protected freshwater marshes of nearby Mandalay National Wildlife Refuge offer excellent paddling opportunities for those interested in wildlife viewing and scenic exploration. The area's calm bayou and lake waters make it suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels.
