About This Access Site
Thicketty Creek Access Site provides public boat launch access to Thicketty Lake, a 100-acre impoundment in Cherokee County, South Carolina. The site features a paved boat ramp and parking area managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. To reach the access point, take Exit 86, turn right on SC Highway 39 for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn left at the Lake Thicketty sign—the road dead-ends at the lake.

**Important**: Thicketty Lake has a motor restriction limiting outboard motors to 6 horsepower or less, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small electric or paddle-powered watercraft. The calm lake setting is suitable for beginners and families seeking a low-key paddling experience. The nearby Cowpens National Battlefield offers additional recreational opportunities in the area for visitors interested in Revolutionary War history.
