Thistle Creek Boat Ramp provides year-round access to Green Peter Reservoir on the north shore, approximately 10 miles from the Highway 20 and Quartzville Road intersection. The ramp was extended in 1999 to accommodate winter access during low pool conditions. This is a no-reservation, first-come basis facility operated by Linn County Parks as part of the Whitcomb Creek Park recreation area.
**Important Note:** As of July 2023, this ramp was closed and scheduled to remain closed until the following year. Before planning your trip, contact Linn County Parks to confirm current access status and water levels. The reservoir's full pool elevation is 1,010 feet, with the ramp toe at 919 feet. Green Peter Reservoir offers excellent boating, swimming, and picnicking opportunities in the scenic Willamette Valley along the Middle Santiam River. Nearby attractions include Quartzville Creek Wild and Scenic River for additional paddling and recreation options.
