Thompson Creek Park offers excellent access to the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The site features a well-maintained boat ramp and dock, providing easy launch and take-out for small watercraft.

Located approximately 30 miles north of Buford Dam, the park is situated on the northwest end of the expansive Lake Lanier. This popular reservoir is known for its clear, aqua-blue waters and diverse recreational opportunities, from swimming and fishing to water skiing and wakeboarding.

The boat ramp at Thompson Creek Park is free to use and open to the public. Visitors can access the Laurel Ridge Hiking Trail from multiple locations and parks. The trail is a 3.5 mile loop that offers great views of the lake and Chattahoochee River.
