As a major destination on Rainy Lake, Thunderbird Lodge serves both paddlers and anglers year-round. The lodge itself offers cabins, dining, and marine services including boat rentals and licensed guides. Paddlers should note that Rainy Lake is a substantial body of water shared with Canada, so weather conditions and wind can change quickly—check conditions before launching. Voyageurs National Park camping permits are available within 10 miles, offering additional overnight options for multi-day trips in this scenic border region.
