The ramp, parking areas, and dam are closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, except for those actively fishing or camping at Timbre Ridge Lake. This is a good base for exploring local waterways, including tributaries of the nearby Ohio River, which are noted as excellent for kayaking.

This is a quieter access point for paddlers and boaters seeking scenic paddling opportunities. The area's natural setting provides wildlife viewing opportunities—walk softly around the lake to potentially spot southeastern Ohio wildlife. Nearly recreation areas include the Robert C.
