Trail 10 provides access to Sherman Reservoir via Oak Creek near Loup City, Nebraska. This one-lane concrete ramp features a dock and gravel parking area, located on the north side of the reservoir mid-lake. The ramp is suitable for kayaks, canoes, and all motorized vessels. Sherman Reservoir itself offers 24-hour access with good road conditions and three total boat ramps across the lake, giving paddlers flexibility for launching and takeout points.
The reservoir is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation and offers reliable water conditions year-round, making it ideal for paddling trips. Anglers frequent the lake for walleye, crappie, white bass, northern pike, and catfish. Additional amenities include two marinas with camping facilities and boat services. Note that water levels can fluctuate seasonally, which may affect ramp usability—in low-water conditions, launching from the dam may be an alternative option.
