Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area

The Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area boat ramp provides access to Grassy Creek Reservoir, a 100-acre impoundment ideal for paddlers and small watercraft. The approximately 24-foot-wide ramp is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and fishing boats. This 3,546-acre wildlife area offers quality recreational opportunities in a scenic setting of upland fields and oak-hickory woodlands in the North Webster area of Kosciusko County.

Grassy Creek itself is a substantial waterway—a large river-order stream spanning 32.96 miles with a drainage area of 161 square miles and average flows of 161 cubic feet per second. The creek features moderate gradient with an average slope of 7.2 feet per mile, making it suitable for paddlers seeking a mix of calm impoundment paddling and potential creek exploration. Average water velocity is 1.28 feet per second, which is manageable for most paddlers.

The wildlife area encompasses 650 acres of lakes and impoundments, providing multiple paddling and fishing opportunities throughout the property. The landscape transitions from flat uplands to rolling terrain with steeper wooded slopes, offering scenic paddling conditions.
