About This Access Site
The Clark Springs boat ramp in the Trinity Lake National Recreation Area offers easy access to the scenic Trinity Lake. Located 17 miles north of Weaverville on Highway 3, this U.S. Forest Service facility features a boat ramp usable until the lake level drops 41 feet, as well as a courtesy dock. An accessible flush restroom and drinking fountain are available at the adjacent swim beach and picnic area.

Trinity Lake, also known as Clair Engle Lake, is a large reservoir with 145 miles of tree-lined shoreline. The lake offers a variety of coves and inlets that are perfect for fishing, paddling, or finding a quiet spot for a picnic on the water. In addition to the Clark Springs ramp, the lake has public boat ramps at Antlers, Centimudi, and Packers Bay. An accessible loading platform is located at the Clark Springs ramp.

The Trinity Lake area is part of the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, established by Congress in 1965. Nearby recreation opportunities include camping at one of the eight campgrounds within 10 miles, as well as visiting the Trinity River Fish Hatchery. Boaters and paddlers can reference the Trinity Lake Boating Safety map, available for free from the U.S. Forest Service offices.
