About This Access Site
**Location & Access:**
Turkey Creek provides boat ramp access to Lake Cumberland in McCreary County, Kentucky, near Whitley City. To reach the ramp, take US 27 north of Whitley City to Parker's Lake, then turn left on Kentucky 927. This is one of several developed access points along the Big South Fork Cumberland River system.

**What to Expect:**
Turkey Creek accesses Lake Cumberland, the 100-mile-long reservoir created by Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland River. This access point serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats launching onto the lake's waters. The site is part of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area corridor, which features multiple developed access points throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. Paddlers should be aware this is a reservoir environment rather than flowing river conditions.

**Nearby Resources:**
Alum Ford Campground is available within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip. For more detailed information about the Big South Fork and Lake Cumberland area, visit nps.gov/biso. Consider consulting current conditions and water levels before your visit, as reservoir levels can vary seasonally.
