Turner Gulch is a primary boat access point on Lucky Peak Reservoir near Boise, located just across the dam off Highway 21. This ramp serves both recreational boaters and supports critical dam operations and maintenance activities. The site is particularly useful during off-season and low-water periods when other access points may be limited—note that Barclay Bay ramp is currently closed for 2025, making Turner Gulch and Little Turner Gulch key alternatives for lake access.
Paddlers and boaters should be aware that Lucky Peak is a reservoir with seasonal water level fluctuations, which may affect launch conditions throughout the year. The site is easily accessible by vehicle via Highway 21 or by bicycle via the Boise Greenbelt. Macks Creek Campground (reservable) is available within 10 miles for those planning overnight trips. For additional services and amenities, Spring Shores Marina also provides access on the reservoir. SUP rentals are available seasonally (May-September) through local outfitters.
