About This Access Site
Turner Station Park in Dundalk offers a four-lane boat ramp suitable for both small and large vessels on Bear Creek, a medium-sized stream (Stream Order 5) with a drainage area of 89 square miles. The access point is located just off I-95 near the Avondale Road and Rayme Road intersection in Baltimore County. The ramp area includes parking (primarily in a dirt lot), picnic pavilions, and restroom facilities, making it a convenient launch point for paddlers and boaters.

Bear Creek is a headwater stream with moderate gradient (62.4 ft/mile average) and relatively modest flows (averaging 8.39 cubic feet per second). Paddlers should expect an active, moving stream typical of this terrain. Note that the launching area can be tight for trailers, so plan accordingly if towing. A county ramp permit may be required—contact the facility ahead of time for current regulations and closing times. The nearby Paul S. Sarbanes Visitor and Education Center (410-962-4290) can provide additional information about the area.
