Located near Creston in Union County, the Twelve Mile Lake boat ramp provides hard-surface access to this 635-acre recreational lake on Twelvemile Creek. The facility features a main boat ramp with docking, fishing jetties, accessible restrooms, and ADA-accessible facilities, making it a well-equipped launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters alike.
The lake operates under no-wake speed restrictions regardless of motor size, creating a calmer environment suitable for paddling. Twelve Mile Lake is known throughout Iowa for excellent fishing opportunities year-round, with walleye, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill populations. Three boat ramps are available around the lake, and shoreline access is also available. Recent aquatic vegetation management (curly leaf pondweed treatment in 2022) helps maintain navigable water conditions around the ramp and fishing areas.
