About This Access Site
Twin Bear County Park offers a public boat launch providing access to Twin Bear Lake, part of the scenic Pike Chain of Lakes in Iron River, Bayfield County. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 59 feet and supports a healthy fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, bass, and panfish. Kayakers and canoeists will find a designated swimming area and fishing pier, both accessible to the public. The park is surrounded by oak, birch, maple, and pine forest, offering a pleasant paddling environment.

**Important mooring information:** Boat mooring is only available to campground campers or day-use park visitors. If mooring spots are unavailable, watercraft must be removed from the water after each use. The park features 43 campsites (most with electricity), showers, a camp store, and a dump station, making it convenient for extended paddling trips. The location provides excellent access to the broader Pike Chain of Lakes system and proximity to outdoor recreation opportunities including the Chequamegon National Forest and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
