About This Access Site
The Twin Lakes boat ramp in Birchwood provides access to Lower Twin Lake and connects paddlers to Middle Twin Lake via a channel beneath Highway 100. This is a Three Rivers Park District facility with a parking lot accommodating nine vehicles with boat trailers. A parking pass is required for boat trailer parking from April 1 through November. The ramp is open seasonally from March 1 through October 31.

This access point is ideal for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore the Chain Lakes system. The connected lake network offers opportunities for multi-lake paddling, with the channel under Highway 100 serving as the gateway to Middle Twin Lake. Be aware of local slow no-wake regulations when operating motorized vessels, and check the WaterAlert system for current water conditions before heading out.
