Twin Lakes Reservoir

Twin Lakes Reservoir, located approximately 15 miles northwest of Preston in Franklin County, offers a popular boat ramp access point for paddlers and boaters in Southeast Idaho. This scenic alpine reservoir spans 2,440 surface acres and provides excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and water sports. The access site features good launch conditions and is managed cooperatively by local recreation authorities.

The reservoir is well-known for its excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for bass and trout species including rainbow trout and mackinaw lake trout. Beyond fishing, the area attracts visitors for paddling, water skiing, and general recreation. Nearby Heart Mountain Springs Recreation Site offers primitive camping options for those planning extended visits—note that this is a pack-in/pack-out facility with no on-site dumpsters.
