Ute Lake Marina provides boat access to Ute Lake, one of New Mexico's longest reservoirs located in the scenic Canadian River Valley near Quay County. The facility features two wide concrete boat ramps with launching lanes and a courtesy dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The marina area includes amenities such as parking, picnic facilities, and a dump station, with showers and restroom facilities available at the park.
Located about 3 miles west of Ute Lake State Park's main entrance via NM 540, the access point sits at 3,762 feet elevation in a rocky desert canyon setting. The park entrance is open 24 hours daily. Paddlers should note the sharp 90-degree turn just before the park entrance when driving in. For current information on amenities, conditions, and to make reservations, contact the Park Superintendent's Office or visit the New Mexico State Parks reservation website. The area offers a large open-water paddling experience in a desert landscape with limited tree cover.
