About This Access Site
Valdez offers a convenient boat ramp access point to the sheltered waters of Prince William Sound. This launch site is located within the Valdez harbor, providing boaters with a protected area to put in and stage their vessels.

The boat ramp is self-service, with a pay station available for those not requiring harbor moorage. Paddlers and small boaters will find the calm, fjord-like Valdez Arm well-suited for exploring the stunning scenery and wildlife of this part of Prince William Sound. Larger powerboats can also use this launch to access more remote areas of the sound.

Those without their own boat can explore the area by chartering a tour or renting a vessel locally. Before heading out, boaters should check the latest weather and tidal conditions, as the open ocean environment can become hazardous in certain conditions. With proper preparation, the Valdez boat ramp provides an excellent gateway to the natural beauty of Prince William Sound.
