About This Access Site
Wakanda Park offers a convenient launch point on Lake Menomin, a impoundment of the Red Cedar River in Menomonie. This full-service park facility includes a boat ramp, fishing areas, and ample amenities including picnic shelters, restrooms, and concessions. The large park also features playgrounds, sports courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course, making it a good option for families or group outings where not everyone may be boating.

Paddlers should note that Lake Menomin currently hosts several aquatic invasive species, including Banded Mystery Snail, Chinese Mystery Snail, and Curly-Leaf Pondweed. Follow Wisconsin's Clean Boats protocol and inspect your vessel before launching. The park is located on the north side of Menomonie and offers multiple access points via Wilson Street, 21st Avenue, and John Russell Road. Parking and turning around areas are available, though it's wise to check current conditions before visiting, as road work or seasonal closures may occasionally affect access routes.
