About This Access Site
Wallowa Lake County Park's northern access point offers convenient launch facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring Wallowa Lake. The site features a **double boat ramp with a tie-up dock**, making it well-suited for both paddle craft and larger vessels. This is the first ramp you'll encounter when arriving at the lake from the north, and it provides easier access than the alternative south-end ramp located 5 miles further around the lake near the State Park Marina.

Day-use access is available during daylight hours. **All vehicles must register and display a paid day-use permit** at the park entrance. The site offers visitor parking in designated day-use areas. For those planning an overnight trip, Shady Campground is located within 10 miles of the access point. The lake sits in the scenic Wallowa Mountains region, with nearby cultural attractions including Iwetemlaykin State Heritage Site and Nez Perce National Historical Park just north of the lake.
