About This Access Site
Located at the south end of scenic Wallowa Lake near Joseph, Oregon, this boat ramp provides access to a popular recreational destination nestled in the forested Wallowa Mountains. The ramp is situated within Wallowa Lake State Park, just west of the Marina, and serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The lake itself is a beautiful mountain setting surrounded by cottonwood, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and western larch trees. Day-use facilities open at 6 a.m., and all vehicles must register and display a paid permit to access the area.

This is the second (southern) of two public boat ramps on Wallowa Lake—the north ramp at County Park offers a double ramp and tie-up dock if you prefer that option. The south ramp provides convenient access to the lake for paddling and boating. The area is extensively developed for recreation, with nearby amenities including camping, a marina, and day-use facilities. Wallowa Lake is popular with paddlers, anglers, hikers, and swimmers, making it a well-established recreation hub for the Eagle Cap Wilderness gateway area.
