Located in West Ashley off Folly Road, Wappoo Cut is a well-developed public boat ramp providing convenient access to Wappoo Creek and the connected Ashley River system. The facility features a two-lane concrete ramp (approximately 30 feet wide), two ADA-accessible floating docks, a sheltered picnic area, and ample free parking including accessible spaces—making it an excellent choice for kayakers, canoeists, and power boaters of varying experience levels.
From this launch point, paddlers can explore Wappoo Creek, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway, and access the broader Ashley River and Stono River systems. The area offers good amenities for day trips or longer paddling adventures, with onsite facilities for rest and preparation. The protected nature of Wappoo Cut itself makes it suitable for launching smaller craft before heading into local waterways.
