Wapsi Wildlife Area

**Location & Facilities**
Located in DeWitt, Clinton County, this access site provides public boat ramp access to the Wapsipinicon River (commonly called the Wapsi). The site includes approximately 10 acres of river bottom with a dedicated boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. The access road is narrow, so plan accordingly when towing larger vessels.

**Paddling & Recreation**
This location serves as a gateway to the scenic Wapsipinicon River Trail, making it ideal for canoeists and kayakers exploring the waterway. The surrounding area offers 51 acres of day-use space for fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The region is also home to the Eagle View Eco Center, an interpretive nature center nearby that features educational programs and overlooks an important eagle roosting area on the river. This makes the site particularly valuable for wildlife enthusiasts and those interested in learning more about the Wapsi River ecosystem.
