About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Warix Run Boat Ramp provides convenient direct access to Cave Run Lake in the Daniel Boone National Forest near Morehead. From I-64, take exit 133 and head south on KY 801 for about 12 miles. Watch for the Warix Run sign on the left side of the road (the ramp entrance is on the right). Turn onto Forest Service Road 1179 to reach the launch. Parking is available at the ramp.

**What to Expect:** This is an excellent access point for kayakers and canoeists exploring Cave Run Lake, an 8,270-acre impoundment surrounded by the northernmost section of Daniel Boone National Forest. The lake offers scenic paddling through a forested setting with good wildlife viewing opportunities. The ramp itself is a traditional boat launch facility; note that fishing from the ramp is not permitted, though fishing is allowed once you're on the water. The lake is particularly known for excellent muskie fishing and hosts a variety of fish species.

**Nearby Amenities:** Three reservable campgrounds operate within 10 miles—Claylick Boat-In Campground, Boat Gunnel Group Campground, and Twin Knobs Campground—making this an ideal base for multi-day paddling trips or camping adventures.
