Warpath Access Area provides public boat launch access to Lower Lake Keowee on the Keowee River in Pickens County. Located off Warpath Road near Six Mile, this Duke Energy-managed facility is popular for early-morning fishing trips and general lake recreation. The site offers a convenient starting point for exploring the 18,500-acre lake and its 300-mile shoreline, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats.
Parking at Warpath is limited and tends to fill quickly, especially during peak season and weekends. Arrive early if you're planning a visit, particularly for morning outings. The lake itself is well-established and calm, created by Warpath Dam as a cooling reservoir for a nearby nuclear station. In addition to the launch ramp, the site includes picnic facilities managed by Duke Energy.
For alternative access points in the area, consider South Cove County Park, High Falls County Park, or other public ramps around Lower Lake Keowee if parking is unavailable at Warpath. Be sure to check current conditions and any restrictions before heading out.
