Watson Lake - South

Watson Lake's South Ramp offers convenient access to this popular 55-acre recreation area located just 4 miles from downtown Prescott. The south ramp is the primary launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters, with a nearby parking lot and boat rental services available at this location. The lake itself is well-suited for paddling with various coves and areas to explore, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced paddlers.

The site is part of a full-service recreation area with ample amenities including picnic tables, grills, restrooms, showers, and fish cleaning stations. A $3 per-vehicle entrance fee applies (with free parking on Wednesdays). While swimming is prohibited, the lake welcomes boating, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. During summer months, overnight camping is available with nearby campsites. The area also offers easy access to the Peavine and Iron King Trails for hikers, and the nearby Watson Woods Riparian Preserve is popular for birdwatching.
