About This Access Site
Wayne B. Stevens Park offers a well-developed boat ramp facility on Fishing Creek in southwest Jacksonville's Ortega Farms area. The ramp features 5 launching lanes with floating courtesy docks to assist with loading and unloading. This location provides convenient access to Fishing Creek, which flows into the Ortega River approximately 2,000 feet downstream, making it an ideal starting point for exploring both waterways. The site is managed by the Jacksonville Department of Parks.

This access point works well for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized boats looking to paddle Fishing Creek or venture into the Ortega River system. The proximity to the Ortega River offers paddlers the flexibility to explore either the narrower creek environment or transition to the larger river. The multiple launching lanes and floating docks make this a user-friendly facility for both single and group outings. Check local conditions and tide information before launching, as water levels and flow can vary seasonally in this Atlantic Coastal Plain waterway.
