Weaver Cove offers convenient public access to the East Passage of Narragansett Bay in Portsmouth. The facility features an accessible concrete ramp with handrails leading to a boardwalk launch area, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and trailered boats. A designated accessible parking spot is available on the gravel lot. The launch provides good access to the narrower section of East Passage near Prudence Island.
Located on Aquidneck Island as part of the Aquidneck Island Blue Trail, Weaver Cove provides an ideal starting point for exploring the broader Narragansett Bay area. Nearby paddlers can visit the John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge or the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which includes protected waters surrounding Prudence, Patience, Hope, and Dyer islands. Note that the facility has no bathroom facilities on-site.
