About This Access Site
The Webhannet River boat ramp is located at the end of Harbor Road off Route 1 in Wells, offering convenient access to the Webhannet River system and connected waterways including Depot Brook and Blacksmith Brook. This small-craft launching facility on the west side of the harbor is well-maintained and relatively easy to reach, making it a popular choice for kayakers and canoeists launching into southern Maine's coastal waterways. Contact the Wells Harbormaster at (207) 646-9649 for current conditions and any access information.

The launch area provides access to a network of tidal rivers and estuarine waters. Boaters should be aware of tidal currents in this area and plan accordingly. Water depths alongside the harbor floats vary, with approximately 10 feet reported on the west side where the ramp is located. The nearby Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge adds ecological significance to the area, making this an excellent access point for paddlers interested in exploring protected migratory bird habitat and observing wildlife along southern Maine's coast.
