About This Access Site
Weigand Marina provides multiple boat launch options for accessing Lewis and Clark Lake on the Nebraska/South Dakota border near Aten, Knox County. The facility features four public boat ramps, making it a reliable access point for kayakers, canoeists, and larger watercraft. The marina also offers 116 seasonal dock slips and daily rental options for those needing moorage. As a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation area, Weigand is part of the broader Lewis and Clark Lake system created by Gavins Point Dam, the southernmost of six main stem dams on the Missouri River.

Paddlers should note that portions of the spillway and tailrace near Gavins Point Dam are designated no-wake zones. The area is popular with anglers targeting catfish and other species, so expect recreational boat traffic, particularly during peak seasons. Nearby camping options at Pierson Ranch Camp and Green Island Primitive Camping make this a convenient base for multi-day paddling trips. For current conditions and specific facility information, contact the marina at 402-388-4169 or visit the Lewis and Clark Lake State Recreation Area website.
