About This Access Site
West Arbutus County Park offers a public boat ramp on Lake Arbutus, conveniently located near the dam in Merrillan. This 163-acre lake is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters, with a maximum depth of 28 feet and good populations of panfish, largemouth bass, and walleye for anglers.

The park provides full amenities to support a day trip or extended visit, including flush toilets, showers, a swimming beach, and a playground. If you're planning an overnight stay, 44 campsites are available (36 with electric hookups and 8 without). The boat launch provides straightforward access to the lake for paddlers and motorized vessels alike, making this a well-developed access point for water-based recreation on the Black River system.
