The West Canal Marina boat ramp provides direct access to the Erie Canal in North Tonawanda, New York. This hard surface ramp can accommodate up to 60 vehicles with trailers, making it a convenient launch site for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats.
The Erie Canal in this section is a relatively wide, flat waterway suitable for calm recreational boating. Paddlers can explore the canal's pastoral scenery and potentially connect to nearby waterways. However, boaters should be aware that the ramp has a steep grade, so extra caution is advised when launching and loading.
Please note that this access site will be closed for construction from June 2023 through mid-November 2025. During this time, alternative launch options may be available nearby. Visitors are encouraged to check for updates on the closure and future improvements to the site.
