About This Access Site
West Twin Lake is a 120-acre lake located in Pequot Lakes, offering a small public boat ramp on the east side suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and smaller motorboats. The launch sits at the northeast corner of the lake near the outlet to East Twin Lake and provides parking for nine vehicles with trailers. With a maximum depth of 18 feet and relatively modest size, this is an ideal spot for paddlers seeking a calm, accessible launch point. Note that this access may be unusable during low water conditions.

From this ramp, boaters can explore West Twin Lake and access additional waters via a channel that runs under Highway 100, connecting to Middle Twin Lake and Lower Twin Lake. The area also features camping options, including a dispersed campsite accessible on foot from the boat launch and a boat-in-only campsite on the lake's north side, making it convenient for paddlers planning overnight trips. A Three Rivers Park District pass is required to park boat trailers from April 1 through November.
